One of my first forays into the metalheart aesthetic that was prevalent during the late 1990s to early 2000s. My designs flat colors, abstract 3D & fractal graphics, and sci-fi interfaces harken back to the Y2K spinoff style. Dynamic, mechanical, and unabashedly sci-fi, it was imaginative of the possibilities ahead at the dawn of a new millennium.

The return to the aesthetic has benefitted from today’s higher resolutions, stronger graphical performance, and a variety of creative software for artists and designers to choose from.

The year 2000 has come and gone, so rather than reflecting the turn of the century, the idea for Spring Overture was to reflect an early spring morning of brisk air, frost, clouds, and slivers of warm sunlight—in abstract Y2K-style, of course.
